Best Responses in Soccer and Business Partnerships - Game Theory
By Benjamin Polak | Game Theory Lecture 4 of 24

Best response in soccer and business partnerships, is the title a worthy read by itself. Does it offer any important information from the onset. In soccer terms be the shooter in business be the designer. To give yourself a good shot in either field of play, its always easier to play offensively from the start. In soccer the example of kicking a penalty kick and choosing what the goalie may do based on their interpretation of which way they think you are going to kick. More times than not, most people kicking the goal will use their dominant leg and kick the ball accordingly. Meaning, If you are right legged you will tend to kick the ball towards the left and vice versa. Variables one considers are - can the kicker control the ball kicking it as fast and hard as they can or will they have to kick the ball just enough to try to trick the goalie.

In choosing profit sharing partnerships the idea of who is doing more work will always rear its head. In a partnership, the idea of two or more people coming together to do a task, earn money in this case, implies that alone neither of the parties are better off and together they shall earn more. In a partnership, where one partner knows the financial aspects of growing a business and the other partner knows which tasks to complete to collect money for services and products - who works more.

Considering its a partnership, can one focus on this idea at all. If you do, do you not understand the partnership will be hampered and broken up. In all relations one must adopt the best and easiest choice for the partnership. Each partner is doing everything they possibly can to increase the partnership profits. By focusing on either 1 person or 2 persons the team shall win as the thoughts are more self serving and not deprecating. Thoughts are everything and what you focus on in your thoughts should always be forward offensive.
