14. Backward induction: commitment, spies, and first-mover advantages by Ben Pollack

14. Backward induction: commitment, spies, and first-mover advantages by Ben Pollack The idea of backward induction, I am understanding more of the logic. Specifically as it comes to games, life, and business. The dot com era that I experienced first mover advantage via the large sums of money they raise to push an idea. Yet as I am learning, second mover advantage may be more beneficial as I consider my plans. Starting from the end,  or backward induction, implies seeing the whole picture while considering all possible players and considering what they will de based on your moves. You may not be 100% correct yet it will give you a better advantage than just going blind so to speak. "Knowing" what your competition may do is beneficial in that it gives you a marker and allowed a more thought out idea to ensue. As I consider, Black Button, this becomes more important yet in a small town does it. Not if you are first mover.

Taking the time to think and plan

Taking the time and think and plan. Novel yes yet seems to be a refreshing perspective. I am going to give myself 10 days to come up with a working model to follow for the next 3 months, Starting Dec 1 2012. I will have all my accounts in order and lines of business identified, summarized, and milestone established for each line. I was recently asked if I was religious. Not that I am never asked the question, I rarely answer or hear the question. Religion and Science are one. Science and Religion are one. Its the your discipline that is in question. In so doing, I shall find a book or two to read during this time period. Maybe Think and Grow Rich, Greatest Man in Babylon, or the "Matt McConahe book reference". My Game Theory research is 60% complete. Eleven more chapters to research. Do I plan to have it completed in the same time period. It's a momentous occasion and the reason for the strategic plan model. I created an income stream that has a runway of 5 months d...

13. Sequential games: moral hazard, incentives, and hungry lions by Benjamin Polak

13. Sequential games: moral hazard, incentives, and hungry lions    Introduction to backward induction.  is the process of reasoning backwards in time, from the end of a problem or situation, to determine a sequence of optimal actions. It proceeds by first considering the last time a decision might be made and choosing what to do in any situation at that time. Using this information, one can then determine what to do at the second-to-last time of decision. This process continues backwards until one has determined the best action for every possible situation (i.e. for every possible  information set ) at every point in time. Each time I watched this video my mind started wandering backwards forward so to speak. Mostly in ways to improve my current thoughts and projects. See the finished project the ideal picture, then work backwards to see what details create the ideal. My friend recently wrote the Eden Series sci fiction. Do I read it, do I allow other thoughts...

Ideals and Realizations

Define and encapsulate your ideal of each other and allow the physics and attributes of water to flow.  - Benjamin Buffett ( Inspired for Cassidy Hauck Wedding) Concentrate on the concrete, physical events - yet don't forget to keep in mind at all times how the physical, proceeds from the spiritual.....  - Benjamin Buffett - A.R. (Atlas Shrugged) Seed by seed, inch by inch one has to be a director of his future. Thought by thought, inch by inch don't let yourself be easily swayed from productive seeds of the ideal of your creations.  - Benjamin Buffett (Proper farming - Prosperous farming) Allow yourself to think the ideal of what you want. Allow your self to think the ideal of why you you want.  Be yourself and want the ideal of all situations, relationships, and buildings. Be your self and mentally pro ceed to nurture and visualize the your ideal.  - Benjamin Buffett (Creating your - my world of the ideal)

At

My studies and research have paid off. My income systems are working ever so effortlessly. It is working so well that I got nervous for a moment or two. Now to continue to build. Buildings are becoming more of a part of my day. I am thankful for my home and surroundings. Especially my surroundings as they are my own and that is the only outlook I have towards it. I am working towards "Career Day" at Harvard. Architecture Design. $6000 grand course. Fuck it, its Harvard for six weeks. More advertisement is the key. I appreciate and understand that now. I knew based on experience yet bigger, better, improved signs. Empty Pail's wording should be bigger, more succinct, and Readable. One project paid for all the signs. $160 for 4 hours and dump. Its the first project, got a paint job out of it as well as a screen job. Good practice if nothing else. Not to mention a truck full of metal. A lot of brass, which is awesome. Going to stack a barrel full and use it to buy a ca...

12. Evolutionary stability: social convention, aggression, and cycles By Benjamin Polak

Image
Evolutionary stability: social convention, aggression, and cycles I enjoy the title of this lecture.  Evolutionary stability. Life is a funny thing, especially as you go through it, live it and wonder what exactly everything means. One evolves into something, what exactly is based on your perception and your thoughts. Remember those seeds that you plant will sow. Does it pay to pay to be aggressive and what exactly is social convention. Be water comes to mind and let things flow one way. No struggle, with yourself and specifically anyone else. Watch your words, especially the ones you say to yourself. In regard to others, well watch theirs strictly and if they speak of distrust, hate, horror, illness, or anything that doesn't nourish your soul then one must act for oneself. Is that selfish. Who's thoughts do you think. Well be, will be. Aggression. Its necessary, especially if you want to be true to yourself. Life is good. If you deem  aggression necessary, and are logic...

The day the world dropped

Image
My world collapsed a moment ago. A stock I purchased and spoke about is seemingly a sham, ponzi scheme. Or so the articles below communicate. Whether its true or not. There will be a bloody path to collect cash tomorrow, if I can at all. I am only in it for 200 and 300 respectively. Could be worse. Now what am I to think. Am I not to put any money in the market at all. Mr Buffet can you not buy and hold specific stocks that have been regularly paying for months and years. I have to face the press, the people and speak of this claim against my world. What am I to believe, what am I to believe in. My whole existence and things I have studied is gone awry. Not with the recent purchase of Atlantic Power and its increasing rise. Its time to write you Mr. Buffet. Expect a letter soon. I have come to what I always wanted my life to be...as I consider my focuses and pursuits. My new office is allowing my headspace to be calm. Iron Man and I are more alike that I thought. We each respond in...

11. Evolutionary stability: cooperation, mutation, and equilibrium By Ben Polak It's a new day at my house. The idea is a proper seed to sow and grow. The care and joy of rebuilding is a project blessing. It seems that I have blessed the house. I watched and listened to the lecture 3 times. Its been 8 months since I have been at a place to revamp and reenergize my soul, mind, and body. The purpose of the entry, to remind you, is to live the lecture. Play with it in your everyday life and improve. From the lecture I have the mathematical interpretation of evolutionary stable as well as a series interpretations that back up the definition. "In a symmetric 2 player game the pure strategy is ES (Evolutionary Stable - is a pure strategist) if there exists an Epsilon (line over E)> 0. The ideals are simple as everything coincides, water flows one way catch the wave. Thank you for the realization and showing appreciation.

The Builders

The Builders By: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow All are architects of Fate, Working in these walls of Time; Some with massive deeds and great, Some with ornaments of rhyme. Nothing useless is, or low; Each thing in its place is best; And what seems but idle show Strengthens and supports the rest. For the structure that we raise, Time is with materials filled; Our to-days and yesterdays Are the blocks with which we build. Truly shape and fashion these; Leave no yawning gaps between; Think not, because no man sees, Such things will remain unseen. In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care Each minute and unseen part; For the Gods see everywhere. Let us do our work as well, Both the unseen and the seen; Make the house, where Gods may dwell, Beautiful, entire, and clean. Else our lives are incomplete, Standing in these walls of Time, Broken stairways, where the feet Stumble as they seek to climb. Build to-day, then, strong and sure, Wi...

Watch you words, Be conscious of your seeds.

Watch you words, Be conscious of your seeds. This phrase has become the seeds of seeds as it holds true in every situation. I allow the universe to be my life guide partner and provide the way in the best way possible that could be intended.    "God, when he created the world, moved each of the celestial orbs as he pleased, and in moving them he impressed in them impetuses which moved them without his having to move them any more....          And those impetuses which he impressed in the celestial orbs (bodies) were not decreased or corrupted afterwards, because there was no inclination of the celestial bodies for other movements. Nor was there resistance which would be corruptive or repressive of that impetus...."   Jean Buridan, 14th century French philosopher   Book: The Story of Physics page 153. Thank you universe for nurturing my seeds, I hold my lines, segments, half and full circles be.
